The Thurston County Sheriff’s Jeep Patrol was founded in 1973 as an auxiliary unit to the Sheriff’s Department. It is comprised of a well-trained, all-volunteer 4×4 mobile unit used to support the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, and neighboring counties during emergencies and Search & Rescue operations.
Who are we?
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Jeep Patrol is a 501C3 non-profit organization. All of our volunteers are county residents committed to saving lives and supporting our community. We provide 4×4 mobile support to Emergency Management Services for search and rescue operations and natural and man-made disasters in Thurston and adjacent counties.
What is our Mission?
Our mission includes Search and Rescue (SAR) and assisting County Emergency Services in the event of flooding, extreme wind, snowstorms and earthquakes. During times of inclement weather we provide free transportation for critical medical personnel and patients throughout our county.
